The proprietors of The Tradesman's Arms, Nick and Rebecca Abbott, have owned the pub since August 2003, but came from The Bull and Butcher in Turville, Buckinghamshire, which they had for over 9 years; this village will be known to many as the set for The Vicar of Dibley and Goodnight Mr. Tom.

The Bull and Butcher was well known for its good beer and wine and its excellent food; the aim is to achieve the same at The Tradesman's Arms in Stokenham.

In the past The Tradesman's Arms had been known purely as a restaurant with limited opening times, it is now a pub with good food and open both lunch time and evening, seven days a week.
