Stokenham Parish Church is the centre
piece of this aerial photograph of the area. In the distance is the sea
which is separated from Slapton ley by the part of the A379 known as the
Slapton Line.
The Tradesman's Arms is left and
centre of the picture on the edge of the large village green where you can
sit amongst the grazing sheep.
Below are two views across Stokenham
Green, one taken from the A379 toward The Tradesman's Arms and the
opposite view from the car park back toward the A379; Kingsbridge to
Dartmouth road section.

The
Parish of Stokenham lies to the south and west of Slapton and is made up
of the separate villages of Stokenham, Torcross, Chillington, Beesands,
Beeson, Hallsands, Kellaton, Kernborough, and Dunstone. Slapton Sands,
where the Americans practiced the D-Day landings, is one mile away from
Stokenham, as is Slapton Ley - a nature reserve. |
